Short Throw projectors a good combination with Tab Tension screens

The latest development in projector technology is the new Short Throw devices. One of the many advantages of these new projectors is the potential to place the projector very close to the front or rear of screen.

However, these projectors require a very flat projection screen. Even the slightest little wave in the screen is very noticeable in the projected image. A very flat surface will only be obtained with projection screens that utilise a form of tensioning system; a permanently fixed screen such as the Frame Vision series or a so called Tab Tension screen.

The Euroscreen® product development has been successful and this spring we will be able to offer the Tab Tension facility in the Sesame, One and Diplomat models. The Linea Tab Tension model is already available and can be ordered today.

Thomas Schulz, Technical Manager at AVCOM, is one of the first to instal a Diplomat Tab Tension screen for one of his customers in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The customer is using a Short Throw projector in one of their conference rooms. Thomas tried several different "ordinary" projection screens without obtaining a satisfactory result. "The problem is especially visual when straight lines are being displayed, as in Excel spreadsheets for instance. The lines will just not be straight when projected on a screen that doesn't have the Tab Tension facility." Finally AVCOM together with Euroscreen® found a solution and Thomas installed the new Diplomat Tab Tension model and solved the customer's problem.
